LOVIN THE PASTRIES

In over a year, sisters Vanessa and Angela Simmons have brought the "flava" back into tennis shoes; LITERALLY. With their Pastries shoe line, the pair have proven that they can stand on their own and market themselves accordingly. Coming from a line of successful fashion icons with Russell Simmons and the Phat Farm clothing line, Kimora Simmons and the catty Baby Phat line and their father's Run Sneakers of course gives the ladies a first hand look into the industry and they have managed to tap into a market that was dormant or barely existent. Pastries has mass appeal with young/teenage girls who are drawn to the colorful, sporty designs, styles. Recently the girls released their new collection of Pastry shoes and with names like Sprinkles, Chocolate Chip, Mocha Rasberry, Strawberry Shortcake, Sugars, Cherry Creme and Blueberry there's definitely flavor and then there's flava'. What I like about pastry shoes is not just the colors and style but the fact that they look as edible as their names :-); not to mention that they allow you to be sporty but still ROCK IT.
Vanessa and Angela Simmons have gained much success from the athletic shoe line as is evident in their expanding the line to include handbags, slippers and sandals for women and kids. From Hiltops, to jogging shoes, to boots, hats and a variety of hoodies and other clothing, you can find whatever you need in urban wear from the line.
